Shiver By Maggie Stiefvater

Shiver By Maggie Stiefvater

This book was okay. It starts off slow, but ends with a killer cliffhanger. I wasn't a big fan of the main character, Grace, but the character Sam was likable He was very down to earth, yet in a sarcastic in a funny way.
Here's the summary:

For years, Grace has watched the wolves in the woods behind her house. One yellow-eyed wolf--her wolf--is a chilling presence she can't seem to live without. Meanwhile, Sam has lived two lives: In winter, the frozen woods, the protection of the pack, and the silent company of a fearless girl. In summer, a few precious months of being human . . . until the cold makes him shift back again.

Now, Grace meets a yellow-eyed boy whose familiarity takes her breath away. It's her wolf. It has to be. But as winter nears, Sam must fight to stay human--or risk losing himself, and Grace, forever.

If you wish to read this book, please exit this post immediately! Like run, because after this sentence is a spoiler. 1.....2....3...

Shelby alive! And I hate her, why is she such an obsessive stalker. Sam will never want her, they won't ever have wolf babies. Why can't she just get that through her think wolfish skull! And she attacked Grace, like who do you think you are?

I also feel like Sam and Grace were moving a little fast, I mean she new him while he was a dog(wolf). I mean I know that she has a connection or whatever, but I wish she would have built more of a human connection first.
Jack and Olivia:

Me too. I was hoping this would be duo romance story, but all we got was Jack the douche and then he died!!
Overall it was good, but with a lot of things I didn't personally like!

Writing Tip #2: Characterization

Writing Tip #2: Characterization

Today's tip is how to have a well formed character. Before you start a novel, or a short story, you need to have well developed character. There are three main things you need for a fully developed character!
          1. Physical Appearance- What do they look like?
          2. Personality Descriptions- Adjectives that can be used to form a character's actions and reactions.
          3. Likes and Dislikes

First Physical Appearance:

Think of everything on the human body, even things you wouldn't normally notice. Make a list and describe those things about your character. For example,

 Hair: Black
Eyes: black
Eyebrows: Bushy

Hands: Big
Height: 5, 12
Lips: Red
Skin: Tan
Weight: Skinny

These are some features that you should have, you're not necessarily going to need all of the, but you need to be able to see the character fully. You don't have to be as specific as his hands were 7 inches long and 12mm wide (Random numbers), but just enough detail so that you can fully see the character.

Second is Personality Descriptions:

The personality description is basically a bunch of adjectives that describe who your character is. These adjectives will be used throughout the story, these adjectives will determine why a character acts the way he/she acts. For example,

Jacob -Reserved, vengeful, cowardly, self conceited

The character 'Jacob' is Reserved, vengeful, cowardly and self conceited. These adjectives will play out his actions, like cowardly, if there fire he would be the one running away instead of trying to help. Or reserved, he wouldn't let people in and would create a wall, not getting close to people. Now you have your characters physical and mental characteristics.

Third is Likes and Dislikes:

Now you need to make your character more human and relatable with its likes and dislikes. Basically, find out what your character has a fear of, what makes them happy, what makes them sad and ect.

            For example,
Lacy:  Dislikes: Spider(Fear), Marley and Me(Sad), people tapping their foot (Annoyance)
Likes: Romance movies(Happy), reading (happy), christmas (happy)

You need to put down realistic things that would make a reader relate, which makes your character realistic and human. The small things are what makes a character more human. You also need to put things that you can use in your books, like someone tapping their foot, you can easily add this and your character irritation.

These are just a few tips on characterization and I hope they helped!
If you have any other tips or suggestions put them in the comments!

Evermore Series By Alyson Noel

Evermore Series By Alyson Noel

Alright, I haven't done a bad review yet. So here is my chance, these books weren't even worth blogging about each individual book. These books were so depressing! I don't recommend theses books, if you see them run away as fast as you can! But, that isn't to say that Alyson Noel isn't' a good writer, because she does write very well. She just has terrible, I mean terrible characters.

Here's a summary:
After a horrible accident claimed the lives of her family, sixteen-year-old Ever Bloom can see people's auras, hear their thoughts, and know someone's entire life story by touching them. Going out of her way to avoid human contact and suppress her abilities, she has been branded a freak at her new high school--but everything changes when she meets Damen Auguste.
Damen is gorgeous, exotic and wealthy. He's the only one who can silence the noise and random energy in her head--wielding a magic so intense, it's as though he can peer straight into her soul. As Ever is drawn deeper into his enticing world of secrets and mystery, she's left with more questions than answers. And she has no idea just who he really is--or what he is. The only thing she knows to be true is that she's falling deeply and helplessly in love with him.
Spoilers from this point on, if you decided to read these wretched books then you should exit my blog .

I hate Ever Bloom, the protagonist, she literally is an immortal and doesn't show one bit of appreciation. And, Daemon is so inconsiderate. What if she wanted to die with her family? She didn't even get a choice! Then when Daemon finally got Ever, he just stop caring about his apperence! I was like:

He acted as if she couldn't dump him or something! Another thing I hated about Ever was when she turned her best friend, Haven, into an immortal because she couldn't lose her!

For the rest of the books and storyline, its just not worth it. Just know I hated it, all of it! Overall, don't read it!
Where does the arrow point too? Comments!

Obsidian By Jennifer L. Armentrout

12578077Obsidian By Jennifer L. Armentrout
This book was amazing! Daemons sassy, yet sexy attitude and Katy's stubborn attitude towards him!
You don't ever really see her kind of character, the one where she stands up for herself and doesn't let the guy stand up for her! I love her character! This is a ten out of five, its hilarious, suspenseful and has (my favorite part) lots of romance. Yet, the entire story isn't based around the romance!
Here's the summary:
Starting over sucks.

When we moved to West Virginia right before my senior year, I'd pretty much resigned myself to thick accents, dodgy internet access, and a whole lot of boring... until I spotted my hot neighbor, with his looming height and eerie green eyes. Things were looking up.

And then he opened his mouth.

Daemon is infuriating. Arrogant. Stab-worthy. We do not get along. At all. But when a stranger attacks me and Daemon literally freezes time with a wave of his hand, well, something... unexpected happens.

The hot alien living next door marks me.

You heard me. Alien. Turns out Daemon and his sister have a galaxy of enemies wanting to steal their abilities, and Daemon's touch has me lit up like the Vegas Strip. The only way I'm getting out of this alive is by sticking close to Daemon until my alien mojo fades.

If I don't kill him first, that is.

STOP! HAVE YOU READ THIS BOOK? IF NOT LEAVE! NOW!

OKAY! This book was amazing! First, I want to talk about the first time she met Daemon! He comes out looking all sexy, I swear I would have fainted! And then he was a jerk! I was like wait what kind of romance novel did I pick up? Like, how can a rude guy be so sexy? Second, Dee and Katy's relationship is perfect! They are the best best friends in the world and then there is Ashley. To be honest I would be exactly like her if Daemon and I were once together and I lost his sexy face. The entire time I was half sad and half angry.
I was like:

And then when Daemon saved her then healed her. I was like:

My favorite part was the laptop scene, that was hilarious how she was mad when he left!

All in all this was a great book and I recommended it to everyone!

Wrting Tip #1: Relax, Rethink, Start Again

Writing Tip #1: Relax,Rethink, Start Again

A lot of times when your writing you get stressed out about how everything is going to fall into place or if you don't like something in your writing your afraid to take it out, because it could change your story. Three things you need to do:
            First is relax:

Take a moment to just sleep or do something that will take your mind off your writing for a little bit. Chances are if your stressed about your writing, you have been writing for too long! After you have time to just breath, the second step comes into play.
                 Second is rethink:

Rethink about the possibilities in your writing and what it can and can't live without. Even rethink your entire novel! Is it really going the way you want, if so why do you keep deleting things? Think about where your story is going and how long is it going to take before it ends. After you have had a whole other thought processes about what your story needs and doesn't need, its time for step three!
         Third is Start Again:

Its not fun to start again, especially if you are restarting an entire story! Just breath and take it slowly. If you continue to not like what you have in front of you. Its not as easy as it seems just to 'start again, because you have to make sure everything adds up in your story and there is no missing pieces. Its like a puzzle. Continue these steps through out your writing and it will make it a lot easier.

Writing Tip #1: Relax,Rethink, Start Again

                                                                     Hope this tip helps!
You know where to put your opinions!

Someone like You by Sara Dessen

Someone like You by Sara Dessen

Honestly, I haven't ever really liked any of Sara Dessen's work....until this book! This was a great read and it was different from all the Sara Dessen books I have read. Usually her books are the same plot line just a different story, but this one was completely different and I loved it. It is something I recommend, because this is the only book by her I actually like, I give it five stars! Here's the
summery:

Halley has always followed in the wake of her best friend, Scarlett. But when Scarlett learns that her boyfriend has been killed in a motorcycle accident, and that she's carrying his baby, she's devastated. For the first time ever, Scarlett really needs Halley. Their friendship may bend under the weight, but it'll never break--because a true friendship is a promise you keep forever.

OKAY, ITS THAT TIME! EVERYONE WHO HAS NOT READ THIS BOOK! I STRONGLY ADVISE YOU TO GO READ IT AND THEN COME BACK! BYE! :)

Alright, now its time for some real talk! (LEAVE IF YOU HAVEN'T READ THE BOOK! LAST AND FINAL WARNING!) First off I would like to point out that Macon is funny, just hilarious, I love that when they had there first real conversation it was in the principles office! Second, Macon is also a jerk, he doesn't seem like he wants to be with her when she says no to having sex with him! Kinda rude and then he's always trying to get her in trouble. Like when she says she doesn't want to do something, because it will get her in trouble it. He still wants her to break the rules.

But! I did indeed love their break up and I know that sounds cruel, but it was great how he was watching her at the dance. I mean don't get me wrong, I think Macon is a hotty, but I felt he deserved it. I also loved how in the end he asks if they need a ride to the hospital, that just made my heart go round and round!
                                  image

And then Scarlett named her baby Grace HALLEY Thomas! That was so sweet she named it after her best friend! Even though this book wasn't completely all about the romance, it was still as wonderful book! And it touched my heart!

ALL IN ALL:
This was a great book! Put your opinion of this book in the comments!

The Collector: A Dante Walker #1 by Victoria Scott

The Collector: A Dante Walker #1 by Victoria Scott

This book was great! At first it was a little dry, but it kept getting better and better. If you like sarcastic, egotistic and charming guys, you will love this book! This book is a great goodnight read. Here's a summary:

He makes good girls...bad.

Dante Walker is flippin’ awesome, and he knows it. His good looks, killer charm, and stellar confidence have made him one of hell’s best—a soul collector. His job is simple: weed through humanity and label those round rears with a big red good or bad stamp. Old Saint Nick gets the good guys, and he gets the fun ones. Bag-and-tag.

Sealing souls is nothing personal. Dante’s an equal-opportunity collector and doesn't want it any other way. But he’ll have to adjust, because Boss Man has given him a new assignment:

Collect Charlie Cooper’s soul within ten days.

Dante doesn't know why Boss Man wants Charlie, nor does he care. This assignment means only one thing to him, and that’s a permanent ticket out of hell. But after Dante meets the quirky Nerd Alert chick he’s come to collect, he realizes this assignment will test his abilities as a collector…and uncover emotions deeply buried.

SPOILERS! STOP! PASS THIS POINT IF YOU HAVEN'T READ THE BOOK YOU WILL BE UPSET! SPOILERS ARE COMING!

Okay! Now that all the people who haven't read the book are gone(they better be), I can really talk! First, Dante was a total jerk in the beginning, did that bother anyone else? I mean he was funny, but at the same time he was really fake to Charlie. What I did love was how his personality changed when he could relate to her about both of there parents and how he felt sorry for her since her 'grandma' was sick.
Another aspect I want to hit is Blue, he died! I didn't want that and where did he come from when they were fighting? Did he follow them or was he someone important that I just completely missed? Then I knew Victoria and Max were going to be together as soon as Max said something about his fiancee I was like:

But then I was like:

I loved it! It makes me so happy that Victoria and Max found each other, I think they are just so cute. Of course that wasn't the end of it, Dante's moms boyfriend was the antagonist. The bad guy. I was just like:

Like it could have been anyone, but no it was someone who was unimportant.  At first I was like OMG Blue is going to come out and be all "What now, Dante!". He didn't and I wasn't happy about that at all. He was just some random thrown in character that I felt had nothing to do with anything!

OVERALL
The book was interesting and I will be finishing the rest of the series! It was funny on so many levels of sarcasm.
